Forbidden Fruit (Pokeweed)

$350.00

I wasn’t familiar with this plant before I moved to the Hudson Valley.  Its magenta stems and clusters of pale green buttons ripening to a glossy purple-black struck me as tropical and exotic.  But it’s actually native to the East Coast of the US. And although this plant is thoroughly poisonous to humans (and dogs and cats) our species has nonetheless figured out ways to eat it anyway. I’ll personally leave them to the birds, who love them.
