When I was a kid, all but 3 of my teeth had to be pulled.
(Those other 3 I pulled out myself, wiggling them because they were "loose" until they actually were loose. One I yanked out at summer camp, out of mild boredom. Every one else was swimming.)

A few weeks back I submitted some of the Caitlyn paintings for consideration for inclusion in a show. It was being put together (from what I could tell) by a NY-based nomadic curatorial group, and was going to be hung in a church. I didn't think much of it. I've had my work included in shows that happened to be staged in churches before. Some churches are very progressive and my work is fairly tame in the grand scheme of things, to be honest.
But it was turned down for being too sexual. That's fine. It was actually nice to receive the jurors' notes -- that's pretty rare. And the goal is to keep submitting, rack up those rejections, right?

I ran into an acquaintance a few weeks ago... My interactions with this guy feel like they're out of the pre-digital New York era. We've had great conversations about art, but I have no contact info for him. I don't even know his real name, so there's no looking him up on Facebook.
